National Mental Health Week!!
- should be every day!
Taking care of our mental health is not something that should happen only for 7 days out of a possible 365 or 6. It is something that should happen everyday.
So how can you take care of your mental health easily?
Here are some daily basic ground rules – whether you consider yourself to be in good or poor mental health.
- Take time to breathe slowly and deeply.
- Observe what is around you (without judgement).
- Slow down the way that you run your internal chatter (there is always more time).
- Look for the things that are ‘right’, right now – at any time, every day.
- Keep yourself well hydrated.
- Eat nourishing food and snacks.
- Take breaks from your computer/screen.
- Move about more, take more exercise.
- Smile more.
- Have a chat with someone – (a Colleague, someone you’re sitting next to, or a friend)
- Praise and acknowledge yourself, for doing what you do.
- At night - put your phone on airplane mode, open your bedroom window, allow yourself an hour to relax before bed.
- Sleep well.
