A Walk in the Sand - overcoming your stress!

This could be the Bahamas - it is the UK, an hour + from London and just minutes from Make that Difference - what a great place to de-stress! June 2015.

The skies and cloud formations over the sea can be so thrilling - as you gaze you simply lose all sense of what is happening elsewhere - a real holiday for your mind!

Wild Seas last year at Ramsgate Main Sands - whatever the weather, there is always something to be delighted with at Ramsgate and Thanet!

The sunsets around the Thanet Coast are just magnificent!
Stress and Burnout are at near epidemic levels, as women and men struggle with balancing the needs of work, family, home, partner, social life (if they have time), finances .... The list could certainly go on, and if you are reading this because you really are feeling that you have lost sight of 'you' amongst all of these crowding and competing demands, you will probably be suffering in a great many more ways too:-

  • Exhaustion - never feeling as though you have had refreshing sleep,
  • Over thinking, not being able to silence your mind.  Worrying about what might happen, or what happened before.
  • Anxiety
  • Heart palpitations,
  • Negative thinking, finding it far too easy to see what isn't right rather than what is.
  • Irritability affecting your relationships and your interest in life.
  • Finding it impossible to establish any healthier routine, perhaps gaining weight, not able to lose it.
  • Frequent colds and infections - just feeling perpetually under the weather
  • Loss of confidence
  • Not being able to see what is possible.
  • Feeling and perhaps being increasingly ineffective.
  • Just feeling that it is time for you to step off this circus ride NOW, but you just don't know how to.

How did you get to this point?  Did it just suddenly happen?  Is it that you'd been feeling great and on top of everything, then one morning the world just suddenly felt overwhelming?  Or has this state in which you find yourself just been building over years, perhaps, so much so that your current state has become the norm - memories of an energetic, fun, give almost anything a-go you, now seem distant and barely recognisable,  but now you are getting to the point where you recognise that you cannot keep going as you are.

The likelihood is that this has been building up over years.  Certainly the dreams and goals of what you wanted for your life will have been jaded by the daily grind.  It is remarkable how you start off bright eye'd and bushy tailed with great visions of what you want for your life - but then the daily job, the travel, the domestic and family chores and requirements get most people to the point where just turning your mind off, becoming aware of less and less is simply a strategy that you build to get through it all.

Yet, it is so interesting that within the first conversation with me, men and women feel that there is hope, they begin to see once again that there is light at the end of their tunnel, their motivation begins to rise, their ability to see how and where they have got stuck, and so they begin the journey with energy and vigour, to sometimes so easily, change their future.

Taking charge can be easy and remarkably healing.   You can sign up for a block of coaching sessions OR you can grab the opportunity to take a couple of days off from work to have a residential coaching break at the beautiful Thanet Coast, to have 5 hours of coaching, NLP and Theta healing - to help you to break through the blocks of limiting beliefs and patterns of thinking - that have been impacting your health, keeping you stuck and stressed and limiting your ability to be true to yourself. and really accelerate your progress, by the sea or on the sand.

The wonderful thing about combining coaching with walking in nature (regardless of the weather) is that it enables you to think more creatively, to create better possibilities for yourself, to step out of old habits into new ones.  Living and working by the Thanet Coast enables me to help you to really get in touch with the constancy of change - it is there right before your eyes.  The wonderful huge expanses of sky, the beautiful sandy beaches - expanding and shrinking with the tides, changing by the moment with the movement of the sea and the nature of the wind.  Here you can set yourself on a great new path.

Residential coaching breaks can be very expensive.  In 2015 the Basic Residential Coaching Break package with Clara of Make that Difference - offers you 5 hours of coaching over 2 days, with one night B&B included and two follow-up 45 minute telephone/skype sessions for 550.gbp.  Additional night's, coaching hours or follow up coaching sessions, or including your partner - can all be arranged.

To discuss - please email Clara at info@makethatdifference.org quoting EBLOGGER in your email, giving your email, telephone number and 3 possible time slots to arrange an initial FREE 30 minute consultation.

Wanting Change that lasts!

We live in a world where we can achieve so much at the touch of a button.  Over 8 million people are now working from home, or anywhere - mainly working from their computers.

We can book holidays, visit places, order any array of products without leaving our homes or the beach.  We can create art and design  entirely digitally.  Now we can even create products through 3d and 4d printing.  We are moving to an age where so much can be achieved with barely touching anything except for our computers or our mobile phones.

These are mammoth changes.  Yet the human mind and psychological needs are no different to 1000's of years ago.  Our technology has changed, we humans have not.  When so much can be achieved with seemingly little effort - it is not surprising that we struggle establishing the change in our own thinking and behaviours that we need to do, to be as effective as we want and need to be.

In contrast to the wild promises that change in old patterns can be created in a moment.   Lasting change really does re-quire constant vigilence and effort.  You see our human minds are rather like computers.  Our early childhood experiences do create a default setting, which we are attracted back to at all times, particularly at times of crisis.  So for the individuals whose default settings were set in ways that were not supportive to healthy behaviour and thinking - they have to be more conscious and work harder (initially) to adopt new patterns of behaviour that they need, to be as effective, happy and healthy as they most certainly can be.

The good thing is that you can make that difference and you can shift from feeling drastic to fantastic.  Making change that lasts, requires you to see and know how you can and want to be, and to commit to taking daily action.

In the early stages support really is required, but as you get used to always moving forward and having great compassion for your every bit of learning you will be amazed at how much you can achieve and how wonderful your life will be.  Change is not complicated, very often the differences you need to make in how you think and what you do are very simple. However, sometimes you can be too close to what you do, to be able to see where and what you can change - and that's where support can help you to make much more effective change, more easily. The good thing is that once you get your ball of change rolling it does get easier and easier to make that difference in your life!
